Hi there, this post is all about our Legend of Zelda themed wedding! We were featured on The Knot and Cosmopolitan thanks to our amazing photographer Danielle. Click the links to check them out!

When we started planning our wedding I knew we had to incorporate something that both of us really loved. Playing Nintendo video games together was a huge part of the “getting to know each other” phase of our relationship. We bonded over our childhood memories of playing Mario and Zelda games with our older siblings. Will and I still play video games together throughout the week. Send me a message if you want to add us on Nintendo Switch!

I tried to incorporate lots of elements from the Legend of Zelda in an elegant way. From the ceremony to the drinks, there was inspiration from the Legend of Zelda. My Matron of Honor even dressed up her baby as Link. How cute is that!?

Mood Board + Palette

You can check out my Pinterest mood board here. I worked with my florist to come up with the Fall color palette. Our wedding took place in October so I wanted an autumn forest theme. We took a lot of inspiration from Kokiri Forest. Think lots of evergreen plants. Our florist was able to create a forest feel at our reception by adding draping greenery to the chandeliers and tables. I also placed floating candles as a centerpiece to add a little fairy magic to the table setting.

Legend of Zelda Wedding Music

I of course chose music from the Legend of Zelda for the ceremony. More specifically I used classical covers. Check out this playlist on Spotify for inspiration and give these amazing musicians a follow! This was my song lineup for the ceremony:

1. Seating of the Family: Super Smash Bros. Brawl Main Theme – Triforce Quartet

2. Groom + Groomsmen + Bridesmaids Entrance: Legend of Zelda Medley (2/3) – Triforce Quartet

3. Bride Arrival & all stand: Morning – String Player Gamer

4. Bridal Procession: Great Fairy’s Fountain – Taylor Davis

5. Recessional: Outset Island – String Player Gamer

Outfits

You may have seen me wear a gold crown on Instagram, well….this is when I got my gold crown! Fun fact: it’s made out of zip-ties so you can totally DIY it.

The bridesmaids wore dresses from Azazie in the color Dark Green. They each chose their own styles.

The groom and groomsmen wore Legend of Zelda themed socks with their dress shoes.

Invitations

I ordered my invitations from Shutterfly but DIY printed my envelopes because I wanted to do something special. I printed each address with Triforce font and sealed each envelope with a green wax Triforce seal. I’m not gonna lie, it took a lot of time to do but it was worth it.

Signature Drinks & Recipes

Our signature drinks were twists on the classics. Our guests agreed they were deeelish.

1. Will’s Rupee Rush – Zelda take on a classic Gold Rush

2. The Legend of Sheila – Zelda take on a classic Blueberry Mojito
